Another day down

Not much stitching today as well.  Had FILs birthday party then home and off to A&T’s open house.  I picked up LHN Winter Sampler (with threads), Prairie Moon Crypt club (and signed up for the rest) and was able to put my name down for Quaker Diamonds.

Anyone use Valdani threads?  Those I asked at the shop had not but the owner is going to get a sample of the threads so she can create an alternate thread pack.  From the looks online, I think the threads make the chart in this case and would really like to try the threads called for.

I was in a cooking frenzy tonight.  Mostly to try and prepare for the week so dinner isnt waiting until after we are home from the gym.  Baked turkey breast and grilled sausages (chicken and apple) and banana bread.  That along with Stroganoff for actual dinner tonight made the house smell just yummy!

  1. It's funny how nobody knows about those Valdani threads then Nora Corbett uses them and now other designers use them as well and us stitchers have a pain finding them or finding alternate threads ... Silly ...

  2. I'm about to start Quakers and Quilts with the valdani. Hope to pick up my thread today. Fabric is on order. I've seen them and they look/feel wonderful!

  3. I have used Valdani threads and I really like them. I first used them on Rosewood Manor's Quaker's and Quilts (Quaker Diamonds uses the exact same colors). I bought the three stranded balls in a box, and I love them. They are perfect if you are using a 28 ct. fabric. I also bought them for the Nora Corbett Sunflower Fairy, but wish I had gotten the 6 stranded skeins for that one as I am stitching it on 32 ct and only need two strands. The thread has a good feel and a beautiful variegated effect. I agree with you that these threads really seem to make this design. I recently bought Quaker Diamonds too. Love that design.
